Along with the railway-track minute scale, the small second with its cream-colored dagger hand, and the local and home markers, they form a great set of elements in an overall design that looks very nice and is easy to read. Considering that the strap is a defining element of the Santos, which allowed the watch to be attached to the wrist, Cartier has chosen to focus heavily on that element with the redesign collection.

This Ludwig 33 Gold, which is the watch that inspired my current shift in perception, is not the first gold watch the brand has ever produced. It isn’t even the first gold Ludwig. In many ways, this is a soft remake of a 35mm model that tested the waters 15 years ago (reference 211, for anyone who’s counting, available with either a white dial or a Mocca dial).

The new GMB2100 also features automatic solar-powered charging and precision Bluetooth time sync via the Casio Watches App.
